At One Big Man & One Big Truck Moving, our pricing structure is straightforward and transparent. Here's how it works:


1. Base Fee:

The base fee varies depending on the distance of the move. This will be calculated and communicated to you upfront.


2. Hourly Rate:

We charge $85 per person per hour for our moving services. This includes all moving tasks required to get your belongings from one place to another safely.


3. Billing Increments:

Our billing is done in 15-minute increments. This means you only pay for the exact time our movers work, with no minimum time requirement.


4. Packing Services:

If you opt for our packing services, the same hourly rates apply in addition to the cost of supplies.


5. Overtime Charges:

After 5 PM, overtime charges are applied. This will be discussed and agreed upon before the move.

Here's an example of how your total bill would be calculated:


  •  For Move Only: (Hours x Rate) + Base Fee = Total Bill
  • For Pack & Move: (Hours x Rate) + Base Fee + Supply Costs = Total Bill

Payments can be made through cash or major credit cards upon completion of the move. Timing starts when our crew arrives at your location. Unlike other companies, we have no time minimums and bill in quarter-hour intervals. Our dedicated employees are provided with health and dental insurance, ensuring a committed, professional team for your moving needs in San Francisco and surrounding areas in California.

  • Understanding the Base Fee

    The base fee is a one-time set-up charge that covers the operational expenses related to your move. This fee contributes towards the cost of getting our crew from our office to your location and back again after the job is completed. It also helps cover the costs associated with fuel and truck maintenance.

  • Payment Methods for Our Services

    We accept payments through cash and major credit cards including VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. Please note, we do not accept checks. Payment is collected upon the completion of the move. If you choose to pay by credit card, we use a secure Square reader for transactions. This ensures a safe and hassle-free payment process.


  • Our Timing Policy

    Our timing policy varies based on your location. For moves within a 'Local Service Area', the clock starts when our crew arrives at the first location and stops once the truck is unloaded at your new location. However, for moves starting or ending outside of a 'Local Service Area', the time starts when we leave or return to the 'Local Service Area' respectively. This policy ensures fairness and accuracy in billing.
